Pokemon Route 8 Muraille Coast Walkthrough
This sizable route features high, rocky cliffs that overlook a sandy shoreline. You will emerge on the cliffs after passing through the Connecting Cave. By passing through the Ambrette Aquarium, you can explore Route 8’s lower beach. However, much of Route 8’s beach cannot be explored until after you have accomplished an important task at Glittering Cave.
Step 1
A pair of familiar faces greet you as you begin exploring Route 8. It is Professor Sycamore’s special assistants – Sina and Dexio! Your journey has led you to the Kalos region’s western coast, and so the two deem you worthy of having your Pokedex powered up. Now you can record new Pokemon species in the Coastal Kalos Pokedex!
Step 2
Plunder Route 8’s rocky terrain as you make your way south toward Ambrette Town. Pick your way over the ledges with care, or you may have to backtrack to get all of the items to be found. You will need to hop cross some stepping stones in order to reach the town. Start at the north end and hop southward to cross this simple obstacle. Ambrette Town is just ahead!
Step 3
While hopping across the stepping stones, land on one of the east stones to move within range of a sky trainer. If you have at least one flying or levitating Pokemon with you, the sky trainer will be happy to take you on in battle. Only flying or levitating Pokemon can participate in these challenging fights.
Step 4
When you approach the stairs that lead down into Ambrette Town, your friendly rival Serena/Calem will run up to you and suggest that you check out the Fossil Lab in town. Head down the stairs to see it, and all that Ambrette Town has to offer.
Step 5
After you have fully explored Ambrette Town, pass through the Ambrette Aquarium to reach Route 8’s western shoreline. There are more items to find around here, and you can use the old rod from the man in the aquarium to fish up wild Pokemon from the sea.
Step 6
There are many small, cracked rocks to smash around Route 8. Be sure to break each one and see what you find. If you are drawn into battle, try to catch the wild Pokemon that emerge from the cracked rocks.
Step 7
The first time you visit Route 8’s sandy shore, a woman who has lost a precious fossil won’t let you explore very far to the north. After you clear Glittering Cave, the woman not only lets you pass, but also gives you a valuable item called the dowsing machine. Now you can search for buried treasure all over the Kalos region!
Step 8
Put the dowsing machine to use right away and start combing the beach for buried goodies. Simply walk around with the dowsing machine out and pay attention when its beams of coloured light begin to shine. The beams will point toward nearby buried treasure, and they change from blue to green to amber as you draw near. When the beams finally cross and turn red, you have hit pay dirt!
