Pokemon Route 8 Walkthrough
Route 8
Step 1
Route 8 is a maze of ruins and ladders, so we hope you are ready for some ups and downs! You can head up the ladder to the northwest, but that will just get you to a Trainer Tips sign and a view of a TM. You cannot get the TM until later, so for now just head down the first ladder you find on Route 8 to get to the lower level.
Step 2
Get past a trainer and climb back to the upper level. Before heading north, try taking the detour to the east and then south to pick up an item. You can then go north, down some stairs, and up a ladder to get to the next part of Route 8. From here, head to the west and up a ladder to pick up that TM behind the sign – TM96 Smart Strike!
Step 3
Now you can proceed all the way east until you come to another ladder. Climb down, be sure to pick up an item, and then go up the very next ladder you come to. You will then find yourself on yet another small platform with a ladder on its northeast corner, so climb down again. Go north through the tall grass until you reach the lip of the platform, then move on to the west to jump down a ledge!
Step 4
Head south, then east to grab an item, and then west past caves that Pokemon might jump out of. Keep going west to get another item, then turn north to where the road branches into a staircase continuing north and a path leading to the east. Climb up the stairs first to take on a trainer and find a big nugget, then double back to the east.
Step 5
Make your way past a musician and down yet another ladder. In this area you will find a King’s Rock – and a nugget if you are attentive to the sparkle! Keep an eye out for the Falinks that pop out of the caves (and catch one if you would like) and head up the stairs to the far east and up the ladder. The path to Circhester will be straight ahead – but first, take a westward path hidden behind a wall to nab TM43 Brick Break.
Step 6
Now you have a choice – you can head back and go through the tunnel leading north toward Circhester, or you can go farther east first and pass some trainers to find a campsite and – down another small path – a Terrain Extender!
Step 7
After the hot, baked ruins of the southern part of Route 8, Steamdrift Way may come as a shock. The temperature seems to have dropped significantly, and amid the falling snowflakes, you will find a trainer and some new Pokemon to battle. Spend as much or as little time as you like in this new environment, because Circhester is just around the bend!
